This project aims to conduct a comprehensive sales analysis for Superstore, focusing on key performance indicators and customer behavior to drive strategic decision-making. The analysis will be structured around the following core objectives: Analyzing Sales Performance by Region and Category: We will delve into the sales data to understand performance variations across different regions and product categories. This involves analyzing total sales and profit to pinpoint which categories perform best within each region. Understanding Customer Purchase Patterns Over Time: This section will focus on customer loyalty and purchasing habits. We will identify repeat customers, calculate the average time between their purchases, and evaluate the frequency with which customers return to place new orders. Furthermore, we will seek to identify customers with increasing order frequency over time, indicating growing engagement. Ranking Products by Popularity and Profit: To optimize product strategy, we will rank products within each category based on both sales volume and profitability. This will allow us to identify the top 3 best-selling products in each category, providing valuable insights into product performance. Evaluating Year-over-Year Sales Growth: We will calculate the year-over-year growth in both sales and profit at a regional level. This longitudinal analysis will help identify trends and areas of significant growth or potential decline. Assessing Order Shipping Efficiency: To enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, we will calculate the shipping duration for each order. We will then compute the average shipping time by shipping mode and identify any delayed shipments compared to these averages. Identifying Top Customers by Lifetime Value: Finally, we will focus on customer value by calculating the customer lifetime value (total sales per customer) and ranking customers accordingly. This will enable us to identify the top 10% of customers who contribute the most to the business, facilitating targeted customer relationship management strategies. By addressing these key areas, this Superstore sales analysis project will provide actionable insights into sales performance, customer behaviour, product popularity, operational efficiency, and customer value, ultimately empowering data-driven decisions to improve business outcomes.
