I conducted a structured analysis of maritime operations data to evaluate vessel movement efficiency and identify bottlenecks across terminals. The approach involved data cleaning, creation of key performance metrics (e.g., average movement time, variance from a 20-day target, and terminal load), and segmentation of performance into defined bands to support clear interpretation. Trend and comparative analyses were performed across terminals and vessel categories to isolate underperformance and assess operational patterns. The analysis was executed using Power BI for visualization and dashboard development, DAX for advanced calculations and KPI modeling, and Excel for data preparation and validation. Key insights revealed that certain terminals consistently underperformed due to higher movement time variance, with evidence of a positive relationship between terminal load and delays, indicating congestion effects. Additionally, specific vessel categories contributed disproportionately to bottlenecks. These findings highlight opportunities for targeted capacity optimization and improved resource allocation to enhance overall operational efficiency.
